Event description
A fun, relaxed six week online improv course exploring Keith Johnston inspired techniques to train and develop storytelling instincts

About this Event

What makes a rich and rewarding story? How can we work together to improvise narrative scenes which engage the audience with characters that they care about?

In this 6-week online course, we will use Keith Johnstone inspired techniques to train and develop our storytelling instincts and practice how these may be communicated through performing via the online platform Zoom.

Every session will include the chance to chat and connect with the other members of the group following the class and it is capped at ten places.

Imogen Palmer is a Bristol-based performer, director, drama teacher and playwright. She has been performing improvised theatre and comedy for ten years. She is the Bristol Improv Theatre's Theatre School Manager and Artistic Director of The Delight Collective, creator of IMOGENÉ, The Bish Bosh Bash and International Women's Day special 'If These Walls Could Talk'. She began teaching improvisation whilst training at the award-winning Howard Fine Acting Studio in Melbourne and performing with Impro Melbourne. She tops up her training with improvisation and clown masters including Patti Stiles (Loose Moose Theatre), Deanna Fleysher (Butt Kapinsky), Jill Bernard (HUGE Theatre), the Showstoppers and Jason Shotts (IO Chicago).

Some improv experience is recommended as we explore more advanced narrative theory and practice. Please get in touch via www.thedelightcollective.co.uk if you have any questions.
