Event description

Description

Naseem Talukdar is the founder and Project Director of 'Plastic Pollution Awareness & Action Projects'. This organisation aims to build a better awareness of plastic usage within the catering sector and more specifically within Asian cuisine. He is leading workshops across the country called 'Curry & Conversation' as well as organising activities to empower ethnic minority and deprived communities to engage with the problem of plastic pollution and become part of the solution. Naseem is well known for his work with homeless people in Bristol, and is the founder of Feed The Homeless Bristol. This charity has been providing hot meals on the street for the past three years, and has won various awards including the National Diversity Award 2018.

As a plastic pollution campaigner, he will be discussing his efforts in engaging with various different communities and faith-based organisations and will share his experiences, struggles, and success stories.

This event is part of a programme of talks taking place at Children's Scrapstore's Community Reuse Festival, 28-29th September 2019. For more information please visit our website - https://www.childrensscrapstore.co.uk/reuse-festival
