The main purpose of this Course is for learners to understand why people use care services, and to develop the knowledge and value base required for working in contemporary care practice, in settings such as health care, social care and childcare. Learners will develop knowledge, understanding and attributes that will help them to make informed decisions to support the health and wellbeing of others.

The main aims of the Course are to enable the learner to:

♦ develop a basic understanding of the needs of individuals and an awareness of care services that could meet these needs

♦ develop a basic understanding of the ways in which positive care practice is based on legislation, values, principles, knowledge and skills

♦ develop an awareness of the ways in which social influences can impact on people and the relevance of this for care practice

♦ develop a basic understanding of explanations for human development and behaviour

♦ apply knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts to care issues and scenarios

♦ develop basic investigation skills to plan, organise and present information.

Active learning and personalisation will be promoted by giving learners opportunities to investigate care issues and topics of their own choice, with guidance from the teacher/lecturer. Many activities will involve collaborative learning as learners work with others to discuss and present their ideas.

To use the eventbrite system you need to book and pay online, you can do this from a computer, a smartphone or a tablet.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

ID is required if you have booked a discounted rate ticket. We will need proof of age or proof of receipt on benefits.

There is not set minimum age to attend our classes - but anyone must be able to fully engage with the content of the class and we recommend children under 16 only attend classes when they are coming with an adult who is also taking part in the class.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is useful to have EITHER an e ticket or a print out to confirm a place, but we will have a full list of the people who have booked and paid, so any form of ID will usually suffice.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, you are free to change your information, however if your booking ends up changing price, please contact us for help.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, but please contact us if the person you want to transfer your booking to is not in the same price bracket as you are.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Please contact us before the class to arrange a ticket transfer.
