About this event
Since 2004 TASC, formerly The Ambulance Services Benevolent Fund, has arranged and hosted the National Ambulance Memorial Service to honour, remember and thank our ambulance family members in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, Gibraltar, and the Isle of Man, who are no longer with us. To learn more about TASC, visit our website.
This year's service is taking place at 1.00pm on the 18th September 2025 at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
This service is open to anyone who wishes to attend.
The event programme
The National Memorial Arboretum opens at 10.00am and attendees are welcome to arrive before the event to explore the venue and visit the other memorial stones.
Free tea and coffee will be served in the Aspects Building from 12.00pm for event attendees.
The National Ambulance Memorial Service will begin at 1.00pm in the Aspects Building with an indoor ceremony. Following the ceremony, attendees will walk down to the ambulance memorial garden in a procession.
The final part of the service is a reading of the Roll of Honour to read out the names of the ambulance community members who have passed away since the last memorial service.
Following the conclusion of the service, attendees are invited to join TASC for some refreshments back at the Aspects Building.
Important
The National Ambulance Memorial Service has always been a much-loved service in the ambulance community, with attendee numbers growing year-on-year, and last year we almost reached maximum attendee capacity for the indoor part of the service.
If you would like to attend this year’s event, it’s important you register your attendance at the link above to ensure you can attend the indoor ceremony. TASC may not be able to guarantee entry to the indoor venue for anyone who hasn’t pre-registered if attendee numbers continue to grow. This doesn’t impact the outdoor portion of the event (procession and memorial garden service).
Laying a wreath in the ambulance memorial garden
During the service at the memorial garden, attendees can lay wreaths in memory of their loved ones and colleagues.
To purchase a wreath, you can either:
- Purchase a wreath privately and bring it with you on the day
Or
- Purchase a wreath directly from the National Memorial Arboretum in advance and collect it on the day. Please note the NMA will need at least three weeks’ notice.
Before the beginning of the indoor service, please lay your wreath outside the Aspects Building. You can pick your wreath back up to carry it down to the memorial garden once the indoor service has concluded.
