This will be the fourth trip organised by the New Forest National Park to the National Archives in London. Spaces are open to all volunteers and members of Local Archaeology or History Groups. The best bit is that this is free to you through our Heritage Lottery Funding so please make use of this opportunity to access the National Archives and the freedom to undertake personal research.

Times

A coach will leave from the New Forest Centre Coach Park at 8am to head over to the archives and will leave from the archives at 17:00 to return to the New Forest, arriving back at Lyndhurst about 19:00.

How you spend your day will be compeletly up to you. Just make sure you don't miss the coach home.

Refreshments

There is a cafe, museum and shop on site for refreshments or plenty of space to eat packed lunches.

Reading Ticket

All attendees will need a reading ticket to access the archives. If you have one already you can pre-book materials so they are ready for when you arrive.

Behind the Scenes Tour

During our first visit we organised a behind the scenes tour of the National Archives, which was greatly enjoyed by all and found to be really informative. If you would be interested in such a tour then please let us know below and we will organise one for a group of you. If you want to just get down and dirty with the archives for the day then that is fine.
