The National Art & Design Saturday Club at Cove Park offers young people aged 12-18 from Argyll & Bute the unique opportunity to explore, expand and enhance their creative skills at free Saturday Club sessions until Summer 2017.
Led by professional artist Alex McEwan, the regular Club sessions will nurture young peoples' artistic and design talent, introduce them to new and familiar materials, techniques and processes and provide the space and time for them to enjoy what inspires and engages them. Club sessions will compliment their school work and build their creative confidence and self-esteem at a time when they are considering future study and career options.
Club sessions will take place in the inspirational creative setting of Scotland's international residency centre where professional artists from around the world devise new work and experiment with approaches to their practice. Residents will lead professional masterclasses with Club members.
Club members aged 13-16 also get the opportunity to exhibit their work in their own Summer Show at Somerset House, London. The visit provides Club members with the opportunity to meet members of other National Art & Design Saturday Clubs from the UK, part of a national network created by the Sorrell Foundation and run by the Saturday Club Trust.
The remaining spring 2017 Term dates are Saturdays from 10:00-12:30 on 11, 18 & 25 March 2017.
Dates for the summer 2017 Term of National Art & Design Saturday Club at Cove Park are 29 April, 6, 13, 20 & 27 May and 3 & 10 June 2017.
