Description

Aims The main aims of the National Development League for the 2017/18 season are; To prepare developing clubs to enter the official leagues Educate the clubs on development plans and sustainability Provide an opportunity for teams to play competitive fixtures suitable to their development needs Overview The National Development League (NDL) is a programme designed to meet the needs of new and developing women's clubs and players in Scotland. The programme has a series of five dates between September and Novemeber that bring everyone together to a central venue for coaching provided by Scottish Rugby staff followed by a tournament. The nature of the days are designed to meet the needs of the target group, through skills specific coaching based on the key national themes, position specific skills and the opportunity to play matches to develop that vital game experience that new teams and players need to progress. The scores and points of the core teams from each of the tournaments will be tracked through the national development league staff and published on the Scottish Rugby Website. During the 2nd half of the season Scottish Rugby will produce four fixtures for your club between Jauary and March. The rules and regulations of the tournaments and fixtures will be very relaxed to allow teams with lower player numbers to still compete.
