About this event

The National Lottery Heritage Fund are hosting a half day event focusing on digitisation in relation to the UK’s economy, cultural sector, and international standing.

“Digitisation is not a singular process, but a set of stages, which in turn are often part of a wider programme. At its core, digitisation is a combination of releasing digital data about collections and creating digital representations of analogue or physical objects.” Source: Josie Fraser, National Lottery Heritage Fund / DCMS Digitisation Taskforce.

The afternoon event will consist of two new digitisation resources for the sector, to support better value investment, and three panels featuring CEO-level sector leaders who will be proposing priorities, including priorities and actions directed at government.

Onsite and online participants will be able to actively vote on what they think the priorities should be for government, funders and small and volunteer-led community heritage organisations.

Organisations speaking at the event include:

  • National Lottery Heritage Fund
  • British Film Institute
  • Natural History Museum
  • The National Archive
  • Flickr Foundation
  • Whose Knowledge?
  • Wikimedia UK
  • Ashmolean Museum
  • Art UK
  • Scottish Wildlife Trust
