About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join us for a guided Seashore Scavenger Hunt at Chesil to search for natural treasures that have washed up on the beach. This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to discover more about what lives in the deeper waters, usually hidden from view, from slow-growing corals to eggcases of sharks and other marine species and who knows what else you might find?

The walk will start at 10:30am and will last for approximately 1.5 hours. Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before the start time.

This event is suitable for families, but all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Accompanying adults go free, but are limited to a maximum of two per child.

Sturdy footwear (e.g. walking boots) is recommended as we will be going over some uneven ground. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day as the site is fairly exposed.

There is a large council-owned pay and display car park (Chesil Beach Pay & Display) next to the Wild Chesil Centre. Please note, parking charges are not included in the event ticket cost.

If coming by public transport, the number 1 bus runs regularly between Weymouth and Portland. If travelling from Weymouth direction the closest bus stop is Wyke Regis, opposite Ferrybridge and if travelling from Portland direction is Wyke Regis, Chesil Beach Holiday Park. It is then approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the centre.

BOOKING ESSENTIAL.
