About this event

  • 1 hour

Led by ROH artists and the Create & Dance Programme Manager the session will:

  • Introduce teachers to the Create & Dance pedagogy, and ways you can apply it
  • Enable teachers to confidently explore digital resources for use in the classroom
  • Introduce teachers to further ways to get involved and connect students to ROH artists

As the session is online and practical group work is limited, these short sessions are ‘tasters’ of the full CPD, and do not try to replicate the full in-person experience. However, they are a useful option to consider if:

  • You are unable to attend a full day in-person CPD
  • You wish to find out more before attending a full day CPD
  • You have previously trained with us and wish to refresh your learning or take a look at our new ways to get your class involved with ROH

What is Create & Dance?

Create & Dance (KS1&2) is an inclusive approach to leading dance and storytelling that helps pupils develop creative collaboration, physical learning, spatial awareness and general health and well-being

Our practical, full day, certified CPD training is led by a team of ROH artists. It is suitable for class teachers, or subject leads. No familiarity with ballet is needed. During CPD training, you’ll engage with the building blocks of dance, developing your confidence to implement creative techniques in the classroom.

Create & Dance is part of The ROH National Schools Programme and is FREE for all state funded primary schools.

Discover award-winning, flexible learning programmes, powered by the creative excellence of the Royal Opera House – for creativity and confidence in every classroom.
