Event description

Description

The next generation of great artists perform scenes from across Handel’s intensely dramatic operas; from the catastrophic lust and deceit of Rodelinda, to the trouble of love versus politics in Giulio Cesare.

This is a rare chance to hear scenes and excerpts from these beautiful works in an intimate central London location.

The Young Artists of the National Opera Studio are directed by American director Christopher Alden and will be accompanied on piano by our four highly-skilled répétiteurs.

For nearly 40 years, the National Opera Studio has played an essential role at the heart of British opera. The NOS works in partnership with Arts Council England and the UK’s leading Opera Companies – Opera North, English National Opera, Glyndebourne, the Royal Opera House, Scottish Opera and Welsh National Opera – to provide intensive and bespoke professional training of the highest quality for singers and répétiteurs who have the potential to become the leading artists of their generation.
