National Prayer breakfast 2016. "A TREE AND ITS FRUIT"
The National Prayer Breakfast is a world known event and in it's constitution, non denominational with an opportunity for Christians to honour and praise God.
As organized in our nation, the gathering, organized by the Nigerian National Assembly brings together people of all faith, tribe and creed to seek Almighty God to inspire righteousness and godliness in leadership.
According to President Obama at the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, it is a moment and chance to step back, slow down and together as brothers and sisters, call on God.
It is a cherished opportunity that reminds us that no matter how much responsibility we have, how fancy our titles or how much power we think we hold, we are imperfect vessels.
We are able to benefit from turning to our Creator, making ourselves available to listen to Him, avoiding phony religiosity!
This is especially important because we live in a chaotic world with varied and various big challenges, crisis situations, hard struggles and sufferings.
It is in moments of prayer that we are reminded that faith and values play an enormous role in motivating us to solve some of our most urgent problems, keeping us going when we suffer setbacks and opening our minds and hearts to the needs of others.
The National Prayer Breakfast seeks to build bridges of unity and engender national harmony and progress. Through prayers, we pull down walls and provoke the spirit of patriotism and love that is necessary to jet propel our nation to her rightful place within the committee of nations.
We pray that many patriotic nationals will join us as we pray to the God of all creation to direct our noble cause, to guide our leaders right and help our youth to know the truth. That our God will cause us to grow in love and honesty and enable us build our nation as one, where peace and justice reigns. Help us God, amen.
