A day with industry experts and best-selling authors, plus opportunities to meet and mingle with other writers of all genres and disciplines.

The National Writers’ Conference helps writers of all skill levels to develop their craft.

Please book before Friday 26 May to ensure your dietary requirements are met.

Ticket sales end: Thursday 8 June (noon).

9.15am: Registration & Refreshments

10am: Introduction by Abigail Campbell, Programmer, Writing West Midlands

Welcome by Professor Andrzej Gasiorek, Department of English Literature, University of Birmingham.

10.10 – 10.30am: Keynote Address from award-winning Poet, Andrew McMillan:

A Political Act: why writing is more important now than ever

10.35 - 11.35am: Breakout sessions (to be selected at registration on the day):

2. Outrageous Fortune – Keeping Writing and the words coming year after year
