Event description

Description

The Native American Indians are coming to Seeley Copse!!

Your child will enjoy a fun packed day, learning and living like Native American Indians for the day. They will create natural war paints, make head dresses and bow and arrows. Learn fire lighting skills and help build and light the group camp fire to use to cook their own corn on the cobs, build teepee style dens and use hand tools to make their very own bushcraft item to take home. Not forgetting time for exploring, playing games, meeting new friends and have lots of fun.

Drop off Forest School day for ages 5 to 11 years. Parents are not required to stay for your child to attend the day.

Inclusion is important to us and children with additional needs are always welcome at our events. Carers would also be welcome to stay in a supporting role and are not charged for a ticket. Please contact us for further details.

Your child will need to bring a packed lunch and drink and wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. We will provide the hot chocolate and snack and food to cook over the fire.

Forest School is a valuable opportunity for children to:

  • Have positive outdoor experiences and learn new skills
  • Develop confidence and independence
  • Nurture a lifelong love of nature and the outdoors
  • Meet new friends
  • And most importantly have fun!

If you are keen to get your child outside, reconnect with nature and learn new skills than this is the perfect opportunity!

This event will be run by a level 3 qualified forest school practitioner and volunteers. All staff and volunteers hold a current DBS certificate. There will be a high ratio of adults to children, to ensure the safe guarding of children attending.
