Evolving Ideas: provocative new ways of working with collections
It's that time of year again! The Natural Science Collections Association will be holding their 2017 annual conference & AGM on 20 & 21 April. The event will be hosted by the University Museum of Zoology, Cambridge.
This conference aims to generate real food for thought for anyone interested in enhancing how museums with natural sciences collections operate. We want to provoke, explore and inspire new ways of working. We also want you to network, talk to our wonderful trade stands and enjoy a fantastic conference meal in true Cambridge style.
The #NatSCA2017 conference theme is wide – we want two days of sharing and discussion about how the sector could do things better. We have had a massive response to our call for papers. Once the schedule is finalised it will be posted here. Talks and posters were requested on the following:
• New models for engagement.
• Learning from outside the sector.
• Challenging established philosophies.
• Lessons from recent redevelopment projects.
• Provocations for debate about how museums go about their work.
• Ideas for improvements in collections management.
• New practices in natural sciences conservation.
• Methods for measuring impact.
This year's conference meal is in the Great Hall at Clare College, Cambridge. Join us to celebrate the conference in true Cambridge style. Please indicate your menu choices when booking
A MASSIVE thank you to Axiell for sponsoring our conference once again. Axiell and other companies will be showing their latest products during the conference, make sure you pay them a visit.
