Natspec South West Regional Conference - Moving Forward in the South West 2...
Thu 30 March 2017, 09:30 – 15:30 BST
This conference is aimed at all High Needs and Specialist Practitioners, Assessors, Trainers, Support Workers and Managers in the South West. Natspec’s vision is that all young people with learning difficulties or disabilities can access quality education and training, which meets their individual needs and supports their aspirations for skills, work and life, and in order to fulfil that vision Natspec are committed to supporting all high needs and specialist practitioners.
On the theme ‘Moving Forward in the South West’ and following requests received from our 2016 South West event, we have put together a programme that looks to address your concerns. Our key note speaker Nigel Evans, HMI Further Education and Skills and National Lead for Learners with High Needs, will outline high needs and specialist provision delivery in the South West and be open to questions. Salam Katbi, Prevent Regional HE/FE Co-ordinator, South West Department for Education will describe what can be done to inform and support high need learners as regards the Prevent agenda and introduce the available resources. We also have 2 workshops hosted by Weston College and National Star which should inspire and inform your own practice.
We very much look forward to welcoming you on the day, to what we intend to be a regular event in your diary and establishing a committed Natspec Regional Support Network.
Joining instructions, including a venue map, will be sent to you via email approximately one week before the event. If you do not receive these, please telephone the Natspec office 0115 854 1322.
