Natur am byth invites you to join us to learn the crucial role of dung beetles in livestock health and parasite control amid ever-increasing wormer resistance. Farm vet, Claire Whittle, will explain strategies you can use on your own farm for parasite control that minimise chemical dependence and how working with nature can improve your livestock health and farm ecosystems.
The day will start with an enlightening presentation followed by a farm walk to see some dung beetles in action, which will help you identify them on your own farm in the future.
A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.
This workshop will cover:
- Integrated parasite management planning and strategies
- Conducting faecal egg counts to assess worm burden
- Improving livestock health
- The role of dung beetles and their benefits
