About this event

  • 5 days

Step into exploring our heritage skills at our Natural Building Retreat nestled in the serene landscapes of Cornwall. Over the course of five immersive days, individuals and families alike will have the opportunity to engage deeply with the timeless art of natural building, exploring techniques such as; cob and straw bale, thatching to green oak framing and carpentry.

Led by experienced craftsman, participants will embark on a journey of discovery, honing their skills and knowledge amidst the tranquil beauty of our surroundings. Whether you're a novice seeking to learn the basics or a seasoned enthusiast looking to refine your craft, our workshops cater to all levels of expertise.

Yet, our retreat is not solely about the mastery of building techniques. It is also a celebration of community and collaboration. Together, we will tend to the daily needs of the camp, from stoking fires to preparing communal meals using locally sourced ingredients. Families will find solace in shared activities, from harvesting vegetables in our gardens, foraging & cooking to engaging in creative arts and crafts.

While adults delve into the intricacies of building, children will be entertained with a variety of activities, including a bouncy castle and engaging crafts, ensuring that every member of the family finds fulfillment and enjoyment.

Amidst the tranquility of our wild camping plot, participants will have the opportunity to forge meaningful connections with like-minded individuals, sharing stories and experiences around the warmth of the campfire.

Join us for a retreat that transcends mere instruction, offering a holistic experience that encompasses craftsmanship, community, and a deep connection to the natural world.
