What is it?
A relaxed natural dye workshop led by Auda Sakho (Redress Laboratory) as part of TVC Live: Free Outdoor Artist Market.
When & where
Friday 30 August, 2–4pm (market runs 12–6pm)
Television Centre, London W12 — outdoors.
What we’ll do
- Work with madder roots (reds/corals), pomegranate peels ( golden hues ) and hibiscus (pinks/purples).
- Experiment with pH/alkaline adjustments to shift hues in real time.
- Use quick patterning techniques (fold & clamp resist, stamping, and simple stencils) to create graphic textures.
- Finish with a patterned cotton swatch to take home.
Who it’s for
Absolute beginners, curious makers, and eco-minded fashion lovers. Family-friendly; under-12s should be accompanied by an adult.
We provide
All fabrics, dyes, tools, gloves. (Dyes are plant-based and we use mild alkaline agents; guidance and safety briefing provided.)
