This one-hour interactive training session is designed for anyone at Natural England involved in research with human participants—whether you're employed as a researcher (e.g., in CSD) or part of an area or programme team collecting human data to support their understanding of the work they do

We’ll explore what it means to conduct ethical research, why it matters, and how the Natural England Research Ethics Committee can support you. Through practical exercises and real-world examples, you’ll gain the tools and confidence to navigate the ethics application process.

What You’ll Learn:

· Why ethical considerations are essential in research with people

· When and how to seek ethical review

· Key principles of ethical social research and how they apply at NE

· What you need to consider and include when completing an NE ethics application

· Where to find support, guidance, and resources

Session Details:

· The session will be interactive with plenty of time for discussion and an opportunity to discuss your own ethics applications.

· The session will not be recorded to encourage open sharing

· No pre-reading or preparation required
