Hear from Leah Ramoutar

Leah is the Head of Climate and Nature Risk at Phoenix Group where she leads the Group’s activities related to managing climate risk and developing a Group-wide nature strategy; as well as overseeing several ESG-related projects. She has over 22 years’ experience across advisory, corporate finance, investment management and sustainability.

Prior to joining Phoenix Group, Leah was at European Capital, focused on pan-European equity, mezzanine and senior debt investments. She also spent five years in the audit and corporate finance advisory practice of KPMG in London working with financial institutions and energy clients. Leah started her career in sustainable development, supporting financing to the SME sector across the Caribbean and South America. She is a graduate of King’s College, London and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant.

Annelisa Grigg, Director, Globalbalance Ltd

Annelisa has more than 20 years of experience advising companies and civil society on the business risks and opportunities associated with the loss of nature. She started her career as a sustainability consultant and accountant with KPMG, later working in leadership roles within environmental groups Fauna & Flora International and the United Nations Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC).

Annelisa now leads Globalbalance, a boutique consultancy specialising in corporate biodiversity indicators and disclosure and the integration of biodiversity into business strategy, risk management and financial decision making. She is a senior associate with Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, on the technical committee for the revision of the GRI biodiversity reporting standard and a Fellow with UNEP-WCMC. Her recent clients included the Taskforce for Nature-Related Financial Disclosures, Aviva Investors, Phoenix Group, the Principles for Responsible Investment, CDP and the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation.
