We explore the idea that tackling the climate and ecological breakdown is not 'just' about delivering a net zero carbon plan. It is also about working to safeguard the ecology and biodiversity of our planet.

Whilst the concepts of delivering net zero and safeguarding ecology are interlinked and are often complimentary, we recognise that there can be instances where the two concepts are also in tension; for example where net zero activities actually harm biodiversity, or where net zero activities are argued as being additive to ecological safeguarding when in reality they may not be.

We will hear from various industry experts who can give a holistic overview of Nature Based Solutions, get an update on the fast changing carbon offsetting market - to try make sense of the wide range of costs and methods of verification and consider how important it is that business decarbonises its own activities and supply chain impacts.

We will also hear specific examples from business leaders on their strategies to tackle this complex issue and look at an innovative project for peat restoration in Yorkshire.
