Frequently asked questions

I am interested but cannot make the date. Will the course be repeated?

We plan to repeat the course, though the dates are still to be confirmed. If you are interested in participating at a different time, please get in touch by email (info@coille.scot). Your name will then be added to a list of interested people. The longer the list, the more courses will be offered.

My professional background is not listed in the text. Can I still participate?

Yes! You might be a fitness trainer, homeschooling parent, therapist, gardener, or.... (fill in the blank). If you want to learn how to help people to connect with nature, this training is for you.

I cannot go outside in my work. Can I still practice nature connection?

Being outdoors enhances nature connection experiences, but you can also design indoor activities. Examples are mindfully observing nature through the window, creating art with natural objects, or smelling herbs. In the course, we can discuss the most suitable way of bringing nature into your work.

I'm confused about the pricing. Can you explain more?

This is a professional training course priced at £350. This is made up of £300 course fee + £50 certification fee. The deposit of £50 is paid in advance to secures your place. The remaining £300 can be paid in 3 monthly instalments of £100 if you wish.

If I change my mind, can I get my money back?

The deposit and any course fees you have already paid are refundable until 30 days before the start of the course. From then on it is not refundable to cover expenses. Please note that Eventbrite charges a small fee when refunding your deposit.

I have mobility problems. Can I still participate?

We try to make the course as accessible as possible. To be able to participate, you need to be able to be outdoors for several hours and to walk around the garden at slow pace and with breaks. You don't need to be able to walk fast or stand for long. Please get in touch to discuss details.

What about ticks?

Summer is tick season and there is a low risk that you might get bitten. An estimated 5% of ticks in Scotland can transmit Lyme's disease. It is recommended to wear long sleeves and long trousers, use tick repellent, and inspect your body daily after having spent time in nature.

What bonuses will I get from the Forest Therapy Hub?

Through the FT Hub you will have one year exclusive access to: 1.) the online course handbook, 2.) additional online learning material, 3.) regular online lectures by experts, and 4.) discounts on other training courses offered by FTHub.

I'm ready to sign up. What will I need to bring to the course?

Great! Please bring weather appropriate clothes, including extra layers in case it gets cold. Don't forget waterproofs and sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen). Tea and coffee will be available in the communal kitchen.

Who runs the course?

The course was designed by the Forest Therapy Hub, a leading international provider of forest therapy / forest bathing training. It will be led by Hannah McNeilly who has been specifically trained to deliver this course. Hannah is a certified Foreset Bathing Guide and Forest Therapy practitioner.
