The seminar series aims to explore a diversity of perspectives on biological and ecological knowledge applied to understanding urbanism, via analogies and metaphors, modelling, experiments and more.
Our ultimate focus is on lessons for urban design and planning, but we also wish to learn from nature-inspired design in architecture and engineering.
Speakers will generally talk for about 45 minutes with plenty of time for discussion and dialogue afterwards. The first and last will have particular emphasis on feedback from the audience which will be useful to our project: The Self-Organising Built Environment: https://naturbanism.wordpress.com/.
