Meet at 10am at the main entrance of the Zest Centre, 18 Upperthorpe, Sheffield, S6 3NA
We'll take a mosey around the Ponderosa and Crookesmore Valley Park, stopping a few times along the way to write and reflect, and we'll also pop to The Hop coffee shop halfway around, where we'll refuel after an uphill walk (that means it's downhill on the way back!)
Why was a Sheffield Park named after a fictional ranch in US cowboy series, Bonanza?
Why are there two halves to the Ponderosa?
Why was a poor area of Sheffield named after a town in Menorca, and why did it disappear?
As long as it's okay with the other participants, this event is also suitable for well-behaved dogs on leads as the cafe is also dog friendly!
We'll be pondering all of these questions and more, on our relaxed Ponderosa wander.
Your workshop leader is Anne Grange, a local novelist, poet and editor, who has lived in Sheffield since 1995 and has a deep love of nature and the environment.
