This workshop will offer therapists the opportunity to reflect on therapeutic work with client's whose primary presenting issue is problematic anger. By 'problematic anger' we mean clients who regularly, or occasionally, 'explode' or 'erupt' with anger in such a way that they are left with negative consequences such as relationship problems, acts of violence and aggression, social isolation and shame. This workshop will guide practitioners through the common 'anger' presentations and provide a map of the territory of anger work including providing some essential therapeutic skills to support the work.
Anger is a basic human emotion that we all have, however for some people it can be hard to manage and can cause serious problems in life and relationships. For these people anger has often become an automatic response to communicating emotion in relationships, so doing something about it before relationships suffer is vital.
