Governments, funders, researchers, clinicians and patients increasingly recognise that complex healthcare issues can only be solved with input from multiple scientific disciplines. However, for early-career researchers (ECRs), navigating the space of interdisciplinary science is rewarding yet challenging. In this session, we will bring together ECRs working at the intersection of engineering, technology and healthcare to discuss:
- communication and interpersonal skills required for interdisciplinary working
- creating impact through multiple pathways and channels, beyond journal publications
- aspects to consider when crafting your unique research profile
We intend for this to be an interactive session, for and with ECRs within and beyond the UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering.
The event will form part of UCL's Festival of Early Stage Researchers on 25-29 January 2021.
