About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Education Support and Beyond Equality have partnered to provide a space for teachers and education staff to explore the challenges of navigating misogynistic behaviours and attitudes in schools, particularly in the context incel culture and misogynistic extremism.

The Netflix drama Adolescence continues to spark important conversations about how both girls and boys are negatively affected by the rise in extreme online views and violent content. It also highlighted the effect this has on those working in schools. And with teachers continuing to report that they are witnessing misogynistic behaviour from pupils first hand, support for educators is more important than ever.

Join our webinar on 7 May at 4pm to help you feel more confident in supporting your students and protecting your own mental health.

We’ll offer:

  • Advice on how to recognise signs of misogynistic behaviour with help for teachers who feel ill-equipped to handle such conduct
  • Practical strategies for holding sensitive conversations about misogyny in school
  • Tips on how schools can protect all staff from misogynistic behaviour and ensure a safe school environment
  • Mental health support for staff who are currently witnessing or dealing with misogyny from students

Joining Sinéad Mc Brearty from Education Support and Jamie Bale from Beyond Equality, we have:

  • Manny Botwe, headteacher and President of ASCL 24-25
  • A classroom teacher to be announced
