Course Fee: £50 (or £45 if purchased along with Chinese Traditional and Contemporary Music on the Yangqin)

This course is aimed at transnational, transcultural, or cosmopolitan music creators who would like to find balance in their creative process and strengthen their artistic voice. Reylon will lead discussions that explore the co-constitutive nature of the creative process and the "self-in-process," using his music as a Chinese American yangqin artist and singer-songwriter as a case study. This course will cover strategies for autoethnography, composition, and performance to help artists re-root and re-route themselves amidst cultural fluidity.

Reylon is a Silkroad artist who has performed yangqin internationally on stages such as TED 2016, Lincoln Center and Xinghai Concert Hall. He was featured alongside Yo-Yo Ma on the 2016 GRAMMY Award-winning record, SING ME HOME, and now co-directs Tangram – a London-based artist collective creating new music to transcend the China-West divide.

Those interested in learning more about the yangqin can also sign up for "Chinese Traditional and Contemporary Music on the Yangqin".
