Moorland Adventure presents a navigation course for everyone who walks in the countryside. Participants can even gain a qualification if they wish or just book on one event for a taster.
During this full day practical session we will be running an NNAS Silver assessment. Including map work, grid references, use of compass and walking on a bearing. Booking and payment in advance is essential. Cost £28.00.

MINIMUM KIT LIST
Daily Personal Kit to be carried or worn:
- Mid layer / shirt
- Fleece / jumper
- Trousers (NOT Jeans)
- Waterproof jacket
- Waterproof trousers
- Walking boots
- Gloves / mitts
To be carried (* can be supplied by Moorland Adventure)
- Map 1:25,000 white peak OL24 (other maps like the 1:25,000 Dark Peak OL1 and Harveys 1:40,000 Peak District may be used later in the course)
- Compass * (Silva type 4 or similar)
- Headtorch *
- 1st Aid kit
- Walking poles (preferably 2)
- Packed lunch
- Emergency food
Group Kit (Provided by Moorland Adventure)
- Emergency Shelter
- Spare map
- Spare compass
- Blizzard blanket
This list is the basic kit required for daily walking trips. You may wish to carry other kit (camera, pace counters etc.)
All the kit should be carried in a good rucksack (can be provided by Moorland Adventure) with a waterproof liner.
