We’re excited to open the doors of Navigation House for European Heritage Open Day 2025!

Come along and discover the history of one of Lisburn’s hidden heritage buildings and its connection to the Lagan Canal - and it’s all completely free!

What is Navigation House?

Built in 1866, Navigation House was constructed as the residence and office for the Manager of the Lagan Canal, which linked Belfast Lough with Lough Neagh.

Is there parking available?

While walking and public transport are encouraged, free car parking is available at the Blaris Drive carpark, just a short walk away from Navigation House. Please be mindful of residents and ensure you do not block driveways or footpaths when parking.

Do I need to book?

No you do not. Feel free to drop in anytime between 11am - 3pm on Saturday 13th September. There will be speakers and family activities throughout the day.

Can I bring children?

Yes, the event is family-friendly, with activities for all ages. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are welcome in outdoor areas only. Please keep them on a lead and clean up after your pet. Assistance dogs are permitted indoors.
