About this event
Session Summary:
HellermannTyton is a leading manufacturer and supplier of quality products for fastening, fixing, installing, connecting, insulating, protecting and identifying electrical cables and network connectivity solutions. We also develop cable management parts for customised. needs. Find out more about our wide range of career and apprenticeship opportunities on this live session.
The purpose of manufacturing is to make things – from biscuits and textiles to electronics and high-tech machinery. It also covers researching and developing new products, as well as services such as purchasing. The sector is using more digital technology like artificial intelligence, automation and robotics. The need to make sustainable and low carbon products (including electricity) means this is a really important sector.
About National Apprenticeship Week 2022 (#NAW2022)
National Apprenticeship Week 2022 will take place across the country w/c Monday 7th February. The aim is to celebrate apprenticeships and their impact on people and the economy.
To make local contribution to this campaign, GMCA's Meet Your Future will be coordinating a series of virtual events with many of our partner organisations. We want to celebrate apprenticeships past and current through this programme of virtual content and social media campaigns.
The week is a chance to celebrate our Greater Manchester apprentices, employers, and training providers, and promote apprenticeships to build a better future for the city-region.
The Theme – ‘Build The Future’
The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2022 will be 'build the future'; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.
We also want to hear the motivating stories of how apprentices in Greater Manchester have helped business adapt and build during a difficult year.
About Meet Your Future:
Meet Your Future (MYF) is a work shadowing campaign to respond to the impact of Covid-19 on young people and was initially launched by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, in April 2019. Meet Your Future offers experiences of the workplace and encounters with employers to young people across Greater Manchester, in a variety of different business environments, to help them learn about different roles and careers and to gain first-hand experience of the wold of work.
