Date and time
Find fossil teeth and prehistoric settlements on this beach walk from the Naze Tower. Sketch your findings to create an archive.
About this event
Meeting artist Jane Stewart at the Naze Tower Carpark (Charges apply) by the visitor centre, this beach walk will take us past clay cliffs where fossil shark teeth can be found, we follow the beach North through the nature reserve towards Stone point, a desolate spot that was home to a pre-historic village.
On our journey, we will se evidence of coastal erosion as well as old bricks and historic flotsam and jetsam, not always easy to carry home with you, but perfect for drawing and photographing to create your own archive of history.
Bring your sketchpad and drawing implements of choice, sensible shoes for beach walking and plenty of water. Refreshments are available at the Naze Tower.
Please be advised that the walk is subject to the tide, so the route might have to change depending on the time of high tide. There is also a parking charge at the Naze Tower carpark
