Abuse is much in the news. Buddhist organisations are sadly not immune.
Safeguarding is a practical expression of compassion; the desire to relieve suffering for ourselves and others. However not everyone shares that desire, and children and some adults can be particularly vulnerable to harm in faith organisations, where we tend to believe the best of everyone.

Would you recognise if a sangha member was being take advantage of?
Would you know what to do about it? Would you know what NOT to do about it?
What would you do if someone at a class or retreat confessed to viewing illegal images of children online?

These events will be led by a trainer from Thirtyone:eight (previously CCPAS) who specialise in Safeguarding advice and training for faith organisations. She will help you understand more about Safeguarding, how to recognise those at risk and what to do if problems occur, as well as developing policies.

Has your organisation sent someone for Safeguarding training this year?
Many insurers require this as a condition of cover.
