About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Suzie Leighton and 'Funmi Adewole-Elliott are delighted to invite you to participate in the launch of the NCACE Independent Researchers Network - a new initiative that is designed to connect and support independent and freelance practitioners who work across the arts, culture, and higher education sectors and undertake research as a central pillar in their work.

The event is open to artists, cultural practitioners, policy thinkers and independent scholars working at the intersection of research, and arts and culture.

What to Expect:

  • An introduction to the network’s goals: community, visibility, and peer to peer support for independent researchers.
  • Opportunities to help shape the direction of the network and future research and activities.
  • The launch of the pilot NCACE Research Associate Scheme.

About the Research Associate Scheme:

At the event, we’ll open applications for a small pilot group of NCACE Research Associates. Each Associate will:

  • Receive School of Advanced Study email credentials, providing access to SAS and University of London libraries, online development and training resources, a surgery with University of London Research Services, and hot-desking workspaces in Senate House.
  • Be awarded a small honorarium to support the development of an appropriately scaled and mutually agreed piece of work - this could be a reflective essay, a public event, a workshop, or another output that adds value to the NCACE Collection.

We aim to ensure that the Independent Research Network will offer both practical support and intellectual community for those navigating innovative research in professional and interdisciplinary pathways.

A full programme will follow soon, we look forward to seeing you online on 29th October.
