The class is to run face to face every Monday from 10am to 2.30pm at Pembury Community Centre and online every Wednesday 10am-2.30pm.
The course will be run across 10 weeks.
This course is designed to increase learners’ knowledge and understanding of mental health and mental well-being. The course will also support learner progression into relevant employment within the health and social care sector.
The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to understand:
- mental health legislation, services and public attitudes and how these have evolved.
- how to support mental well-being through various stages of life.
- mental ill health, treatment options available and the potential consequences of mental ill health.
- the skills required to work in a mental health service.

Is the course free to attend and complete? Yes we only charge a £10 printing fee for class material and a fully refundable £20 fee which is returned at the completion of the course
How many days a week do we need to attend and how long will the course take to complete? The course is 10 weeks long and classes are twice a week from 10am-2:30pm
How big are the class sizes and do we need to attend all sessions? Class sizes range from 12-14 and attendance is a must unless there is a valid reason. Class content is not repeated so learners are expected to catch up on missed work.
