This course is for Hackney Residents.
This course aims to develop the knowledge and skills required when providing positive care for people with dementia and their families.
The course covers topics including:
- Understanding factors that can influence communication and interaction with those who have dementia
- Awareness of the causes and symptoms of dementia and person-centred approach to care and support for individuals with dementia.
Often asked questions:
Is the course free to attend and complete? Yes we only charge a £10 printing fee for class material and a fully refundable £20 fee which is returned at the completion of the course
How many days a week do we need to attend and how long will the course take to complete? The course is 10 weeks long and classes are twice a week from 10am-2:30pm
How big are the class sizes and do we need to attend all sessions? Class sizes range from 12-14 and attendance is a must unless there is a valid reason. Class content is not repeated so learners are expected to catch up on missed work.
