Level 2 - Creating a Business Startup
This course runs for 5 weeks with one, two hour online session each week, you will also need to dedicate between 2-3 hours of self study per week.
Course Start Date: Monday 1 February 2021 (date subject to change)
Session Time: 10:30am - 12:30pm
Course Duration: A two hour session online Zoom session each week for five weeks
- Session 1 - Monday 1 Feb
- Session 2 - Monday 8 Feb
- Session 3 - Monday 15 Feb
- Session 4 - Monday 22 Feb
- Session 5 - Monday 1 Mar
About this course
Over half a million businesses are started every year, however, 30% of these fail within the first two years.
Having a better understanding of the initial processes and requirements of a business start-up can increase the chances of your business succeeding. If you’re looking to start your own business, or already have a business but want to develop and progress your business plan, this qualification will support you with the skills and knowledge you need.
The course offers advice about starting a business including business planning, marketing strategy, how to gain customers, finance considerations, plus lots more

- Legal and financial considerations when starting a business
- Developing a business plan
Course Fee and Eligibility
The course is government funded and you will be required to meet the following criteria to qualify for funding,
- Be over 19 years of age
- Have proof of residency in the UK for at least three years.
- Be unemployed or on a career break
- Be in receipt of a benefit such as Job Seekers Allowance or Universal Credit
- Be employed/self-employed and earning up to £16k per year
- Must have a full level 2 qualification
If you don't meet the eligibility criteria, you have the option to pay a discounted rate of just £250 for the course.
Please note: during this period whilst we deliver training via a virtual classroom, learners will require access to a WIFI connection and a laptop, tablet or mobile device.
