Event description

Description

The Worshipful Company of Barbers is over 700 years old and, like many of the City livery companies, continues to have its own hall, reconstructed after World War Two. It is situated just beside the Museum of London; inside the hall, one can view the great Holbein portrait (1541) of the unification of the Barbers and Surgeons with Henry VIII in the middle, and Anne Boleyn's Cup. The visit will be led by Professor James Carley, incoming Master of the Worshipful Comany of Barbers.

This event is open only to registered delegates at the New Chaucer Society Congress 2016.
