With the very generous support of English Heritage we are pleased to be able to offer a trip to the magnificent and surprising Eltham Palace, in the suburbs of south east London (about 30 mins coach trip from Queen Mary). Eltham Palace is a late medieval royal palace with a beautiful art deco house attached to it; Chaucer was involved in the refurbishment of the palace, Lydgate's 'Mumming at Eltham' was performed here, and Henry VIII grew up here. It's a really beautiful spot, with a medieval tiltyard, and is very much worth seeing.
Coach transport will be provided from Queen Mary and groups will be able to look round the Palace and its Gardens, including the medieval tiltyard.
This event is open only to registered delegates at the New Chaucer Society Congress 2016.
