Event description

Description

The NCUP are delighted to be holding their Annual Education Event, with a talk by Professor Diana Laurillard. This event is due to take place on 13th March 2018 and is open to members and non-members of the NCUP.

Join us for a light lunch at 1330, in the heart of London's West End in Foyles flagship Book Store in the Charing Cross Road.

Why Should HE Be Able to Make Learning at Scale Feasible Through Technology?

Professor Laurillard's talk will draw on current projects that investigate the use of MOOC technology to act as part of a blended learning approach to the large scale global demand for HE. The contexts include teacher professional development, and the professional development of disadvantaged groups of young people in migrant and refugee communities.

Diana Laurillard is a Co-Investigator on CGHE’s local higher education engagement research programme in addition to Professor of Learning with Digital Technologies at the London Knowledge Lab, UCL Institute of Education. Her research includes large-scale online communities of teacher-designers, and the use of specialised digital course design tools to enable teachers to create and share new pedagogies for using learning technology. She is currently running two MOOCs on teacher development in digital course design.

The NCUP AGM will follow Professor Laurillard's talk. The AGM is for members of the NCUP.
