About this event

ND Experiences UK: Festival-Friendly Family Activity Drop-in
Located next to Beach Dreams, offering a sensory-friendly experience

Do crowded and loud environments feel challenging for your family, with overstimulation causing anxiety or stress? ND Experiences UK is here to help!

This event is very similar to our regular family activity sessions at the Truleigh Centre. We're excited to make a guest appearance at the Beach Retreat, just next door to Beach Dreams (on the left of Beach Green if looking at the Sea), to provide a special space designed for your family. Our goal is to make the festival more accessible for neurodivergent families, giving you a peaceful, sensory-friendly retreat where you can take breaks, recharge, and still enjoy the excitement of the local festival.

Why This Event is Special:

🎤 Inspired by Personal Experience: Rosie, who has great memories attending Beach Dreams through her childhood, also has personal sensitivities and finds festivals challenging, and Kirsty, a neurodivergent advocate, created this event to support families like yours in navigating festivals without the stress of overstimulation.

🌟 A Supportive Space: Although not part of Beach Dreams, this event complements it by offering a calm, shaded retreat just next door, designed for you to take breaks and recharge.

What to Expect:

🎨 Sensory Zones: Multiple areas designed for different sensory needs, with activities like calming textures, quiet relaxation corners, and interactive sensory play to help with regulation.

🧑‍🏫 Self-Led Activities: Enjoy crafts, sensory play, and games at your own pace. Facilitators, Rosie and Kirsty, will be on hand to support, but the focus is on comfort and self-regulation.

🧑‍👧‍👦 Family-Friendly: A responsible adult must be with their young person at all times, with a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children. The event encourages family participation, allowing you to engage in activities together.

💆‍♀️ Peaceful Escape: Take a break from the festival whenever needed—there’s a peaceful space to recharge just a short walk away from Beach Dreams.

Tickets & Information:

🎟️ Limited Availability: Tickets are available for one adult and one young person, allowing you to come and go between 2pm and 5pm.

📍 Location: The Beach Retreat is right next to Beach Dreams, just left of Beach Green if you’re facing the sea. Directions are provided.

At ND Experiences UK, we provide a welcoming environment where:

  • Events are tailored to support and nurture neurodivergent strengths and challenges.
