The word for ‘feast’ in Cameroon varies, but ‘ndoh sasua’ is commonly used to refer to a large, celebratory meal. Inspired by her Cameroonian roots and the rich cuisine of West Africa, Ngwafu will create a delicious vegan ‘ndoh sasua’ celebrating produce grown on our Urban Farm.

Timings

5:30pm: Arrive for 5.30pm as the Urban Farm closes to the public.
5:30-6pm: Enjoy a welcome drink, listen to musician and master Kora player Jali Nyonkoling Kuyateh play an acoustic set in the Community Garden, explore the Urban Farm.
6-7:30pm: Join a small number of fellow feasters for supper at the communal banquet tables in the Community Garden.

Ngwafu is founder and chef of Gwafuvegan. Born in Cameroon, raised in the UK, Ngwafu is now based in Manchester, which in her opinion, is one of the best places to be vegan.

Gwafuvegan specializes in catering and educating people about affordable plant-based West African food, using seasonal British produce. Gwafuvegan has a strong commitment to using high-quality, sustainable produce that is locally sourced, and reducing waste wherever possible.

Dietary requirements and allergies: Gwafuvegan can provide food for most allergens and are nut-free. Please email info@northern-roots.uk with any allergens you may have. Ngwafu will do her best to accommodate and we will communicate with you in advance if there is anything Ngwafu cannot accommodate. We will need this information by 7th August.

Parking: A small car park is located at the site, but we cannot guarantee spaces. The nearest carpark is a short walk up Kings Road in Alexandra Park if needed.

Important Information: This meal is entirely outdoors. Please wear weather-proof clothing and sturdy shoes suitable for mixed terrains.

Toilets: We have a small composting toilet available on site.
