NDVE | Improv Vocal Experience

A weekly vocal improv session for singers of all levels.

Love using your voice? Curious what it can do when you stop overthinking it?
This is an in-person vocal group for people who want to sing together. No previous training, no auditions, no pressure.

We explore vocal improvisation, harmony and confidence through playful group exercises and spontaneous music-making.

Sessions are relaxed, supportive and genuinely fun. You’ll build listening skills, experiment with sound and discover what your voice can do in a room full of others doing the same. If you can make noise and you’re willing to try, you’re in.

Session Structure

Each 90-minute session has two parts:

Improvisation
Creative group and individual work including improvised singing, rhythmic speaking, rapping, spoken word and exploratory vocal techniques.

Repertoire Development
Work on one or two set pieces that will develop across the programme. Participants will have the option to share the finished pieces in a relaxed end-of-programme music sharing on Wednesday, March 25th.

About Nathan

Nathan is a vocal leader, composer and arranger who curates projects for organisations including Southbank Centre, ND Vocal Ensemble, Multi-Story Orchestra and Britten Pears Arts. He works with singers of all levels to build confidence, develop vocal skills and experience the joy of group singing.

Venue

Sessions take place weekly at AAJA Music Studios (basement event space) on Comet Place. It’s within easy reach of New Cross, Deptford and Greenwich stations.

Access & Facilities

• Wheelchair users: there are steps at the entrance with a portable ramp available on request. Staff can help set it up. If you’d like to attend, get in touch so we can confirm it meets your needs.

Media Consent
We may have a photographer/videographer documenting the session. By attending, you consent to photos and short clips being used for our promotional channels. If you have concerns, message us in advance.

Accessibility
The venue has steps at the entrance. A portable ramp is available on request, and staff can help set it up. If you have specific access needs, contact us in advance so we can support you. Once inside, the space is step free and wheelchair accessible.

Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time. Arrivals more than 30 minutes late may not be admitted as it disrupts the session environment.

Cancellations
Tickets are refundable up to 7 days before the event. After that, we can transfer your ticket to a future date. If you’re unwell with flu/cold/COVID symptoms, stay home and rebook.
