In response to meeting patient needs whilst keeping them and staff safe, video appointments using Near Me are available for free to be used by General Practice & Primary Care staff across Scotland both during the day and Out of Hours.
Clinician feedback is that they find Near Me most useful when considered as further choice alongside face to face, telephone, and other approaches. It has been independently evaluated by Professor Trish Greenhalgh of Oxford University and this highlighted common presentations that video is now being used for including:
• long term condition management
• mental health assessments
• provision of treatment to care home residents
• acute presentations which benefit from a visual review
These webinars will offer Regional examples and experience of how Near Me is currently being used in General Practice & Primary Care. It will also provide an opportunity to ask the panel questions including about benefits and barriers.
