Create a mountain hare from local wool, using special ‘barbed’ needles. This is a fun and friendly workshop. Learn how to sculpt with wool to make a sculpture of a sitting mountain hare from either Whitefaced Woodland wool for a hare in winter coat or Shetland for a hare sporting a summer coat. The workshop includes joining parts, creating and defining shapes, and adding character.
All materials and equipment will be provided. The tutor will also bring along some equipment such as mats and needles, which will be available to buy on the day, if felting is something you want to do more of in the future.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and homemade cake are included.
This is an all-day course, so you will need to either bring a packed lunch, or buy something from a local shop on the day.
Skill level: This workshop is suitable for those with previous needle-felting experience and some artistic flair. Given the more complex techniques involved in this class, it would be helpful if attendees have previously attended an "Introduction to Needle Felting" workshop beforehand.
