NEICS-RECONNECT on 30 March 2022
Date and time
We cordially invite you to NEICS-RECONNECT, 30 March 2022
About this event
The past two years have been incredibly hard for all of us in the NHS and particularly for anyone working in Critical Care.
The aim of the North of England Intensive Care Society has always been to promote the art and science of Critical Care Medicine through the exchange of information and dialogue among intensivists and professions allied to medicine. It is this personal exchange and dialogue that we have missed so much during a time when we probably needed it most. Since cancelling the Spring 2020 meeting, we have been contemplating how to stay in touch with you across the region. We felt strongly that NEICS online meetings would not be able to replace our well-established scientific meetings.
With this in mind and in view of conditions improving to meet under safer circumstances, we have decided to launch a NEICS-RECONNECT meeting 30 March 2022.
The event will take place in the Newcastle Civic Centre, a venue chosen for its big rooms with good ventilation. We are planning to run the event masked, vaccinated and LFD tested for the day.
We hope to offer a forward looking, (non-covid related) scientific meeting with plenty of time between lectures to meet friends and colleagues from around the region. The meeting will be free to attend but will be restricted to 100 delegates.
Provisional programme:
- Naz Lone " Critical Care in an Ageing World"
- "Sustainability in health care and ICM"
- Liz Thomas " Women in ICM"
- David Cressey " The future of Northeast Critical Care in the Integrated Care System"
- Jo Nevin "Five significant (Non-COVID-19) papers in Critical Care"
- Georgios Kaltsakas " Complex weaning and weaning Units"
We hope to see you on 30 March 2022 in Newcastle.
