The Institute is delighted to annouce its Annual Symposium and accompanying Members Dinner, this year held in conjunction with ABMEC (the trade Association for British Mining Engineering and Consultancy).

Symposium: The Annual Symposium will be held at Neville Hall 10am-4pm on Friday the 19th of September 2025, covering topical talks in engineering. The cost of attending the symposium is £35 per person and includes lunch.

Speakers include:

  • Aberdeen Minerals - Fraiser Gardener – Ni, Cu, Co Exploration in Scotland
  • AngloAmerican – Phillipa Starmer - Woodsmith Mine Engineering
  • Finch Consulting – Richard Hoyle - Principles for Safe, Compliant, and Resilient Machinery and Process Lifecycles
  • Institute of Fire Engineers – Peter Wilkinson - Fire Safety
  • Nuclear Institute – Phillip Vaughan - Future of Nuclear in the North East
  • Siemens – Dan Taylor - Overview of Siemens Energy

Annual Dinner: The annual members dinner will be held the day before the symposium on the 18th of September. The dinner will be three courses, including tea and coffee to finish, with the cost being £65 per person.
