Description

NeoLiberalism - End of the Line?

Is the Neoliberal story so far of one of rapidly declining global poverty and an ever more connected word? Or perhaps a more sinister tale of widening inequality and the erosion of community?

Recently, Neoliberalism appears to be under attack from all sides. From the left, the familiar cries of rising inequality and declining public services have struck a nerve not felt so deeply in mainstream politics for a long time . On the right, a new wave or populists have rejected the once sacred principle of free trade in favour of an economic agenda designed to better protect the interests of their citizens. Besieged on all sides, are we living through the demise of Neoliberalism?

Speaking on the night

Grace Blakeley - Researcher, IPPR North

Charlie Winstanley - Data Officer for Manchester and Trafford Momentum, Director of ‘Manchester Spring’ and Labour Party activist

James Woudhuysen - Visiting Professor, London South Bank University.

Whatever your perspective, come take a peak over the parapet and join us on the 27th of September at Texture in Manchester's Northern Quarter to interact and explore the new ways of thinking which may, or may not, be required to take on the challenges of the 21st century.
