Description

The National Neonatal Surgical Benchmarking group are really excited to host this fantastic Neonatal Surgical study day at Great Ormond street Children's Hospital. This is the first study day organised by the group and will be the start of many more to come.

We are a group of nurses with considerable expertise in the care of the neonatal surgical infant and family. We have being meeting twice a year since 2002. We now want to use our knowledge and contacts to bring useful, expert information and educational oppertunities to more nurses and doctors across the UK and Ireland

We are excited to have secured a range of expert speakers in the field of Neonatal Surgery and Neurosurgery for this event. They will cover a range of topics and innovations within their field of practice.

So far we have the following expert speakers:

  • Mr. Ian Yardley (Evelina)- Managing the long gap OA- does the Foker have its place?

  • Mr. Dominic Thompson (GOSH Paediatric Neurosurgeon)- In utero fetal surgery for Spina Bifida.

  • Mr. Max Pachl (Birmingham Children's Hospital) - Exomphalos Major

  • Mr Jonathan Sutcliffe (Leeds Children's Hospital)- Using Outcomes to develop Neonatal Surgical Services

  • Mr. Joe Curry (GOSH)- Management of Short bowel and stomas

  • Rebecca Chilvers (Psychologist, Guys and St. Thomas') - Staff Well-being
